hey, just saw a few posts stating that a 7900 can max out crysis??is this true, as i was lead to believe that crysis is a directx 10 game, and therefor u needed a compatible dx10 card to utilize the new features???can someone confirmabout maxing crysis
you can run it in either direct 10 or direct 9 mode so it was problay saying that it would run max on direct 9 settings and your right you need a direct 10 card for the new direct 10 featuresabout maxing crysis
No a 7800GTX can max out crysis.
jamesgi,, do u meana 7800gtx can max it out on dx9?or are u sayin that crysis doesnt use dx10 features at all???
jamesgi,, do u meana 7800gtx can max it out on dx9?or are u sayin that crysis doesnt use dx10 features at all???
it does use direct 10 features and he was saying that a 7800gtx can max it out in direct 9 mode
Crysis takes full advantage of Direct X10 and windows vista. But only the new 8800 series GPU can take that advantage until Ati releases it%26#39;s directx line of GPUs. The 7800GTX can max out crysis at decent frame rates this is proven by crytek designers and people who went to E3. But 7800GTX is a directX9 series of card and can%26#39;t take advantage of direct X10. If you have a Dx10 card then Yes crysis takes the features of DX10 and looks decently better then what we%26#39;ve seen with DX9.
To max Crysis and get the kinda framerates I%26#39;d want... Honestly you%26#39;ll want an 8800gts or higher
To max Crysis and get the kinda framerates I%26#39;d want... Honestly you%26#39;ll want an 8800gts or higher
Absolutely, the 8800GTS 340/640 cards will be-able to max out crysis with high frame rates and $300 isn%26#39;t to bad for a directX10 card.
And Ati%26#39;s DX10 card comes out tomorrow i hear :)
ok,, so can someone tell me the difference you will see in the game from DX10 to DX9?? is it just graphical upgrades??and also, the demonstrations on the internet,, ie, when they show off the trees breaking, etc,, are they shown using 8800 cards or DX 9 cards???
I thought it was May 14th, which would be Monday, unless you live in a different time zone/area than the US

The New DX10 FSX water looks real, but in a old 1950%26#39;s technicolor real
The New DX10 FSX water looks real, but in a old 1950%26#39;s technicolor real
Yeah looks exactly like it.
No a 7800GTX can max out crysis.
In directx 9 at 1024*768.

The water effect on Halo3 MP Beta has a very simular effect. Those are no where near the true power of DX10. You know the best graphics is when it is DX?.1 . Right now, DX10 only has the fundation setup, but still need a long time to utilize it.

The main example of this is the lighting and softshadows. A high end DX9 card can run HDR pretty well but not with AA and softshadows enabled. Now look at Crysis, awesome HDR real-time lighting with softshadows, large draw distances(larger then Oblivion/Stalker) and high resolution textures. The graphics we see in %26#39;07 and %26#39;08 are just the start, wait until devs roll out a game or two, then you will see what DX10 really has to offer, graphics-wise.

The water in Crysis also looks fantastic.
