Nice now when are we gunna start seeing laptops using these. Kinda pointless to put vista on a laptop with no dx10 hardware. Would also like to see some benches. Hopefully its all unveiled before i get my XPS or Alienware in the summer

Nice WTF why are they still using 64-bit and 128-bit memory interfaces?! At least on the top tier model use a 256 bit. And besides, the performance of these GPUs isn%26#39;t all that grand, especially as a Go 7900GS outperforms them. Even in DX10 mode, I wouldn%26#39;t be too enthusiastic about them for hardcore gaming, but hopefully gaming on the go will garner even more attention and importance with the introduction of the 8 series and ATi%26#39;s upcoming DX10 mobile GPUs.
The 8800%26#39;s will have a 256-bit memory interface. I wouldn%26#39;t hold my breath for ATI%26#39;s offerings. They have been currently and historically lackluster when it comes to mobile gaming.
I really laugh at anyone that buys a ''gaming'' laptop. They%26#39;re only gaming laptops for the first 3 months after purchase, then they become 12 lb. heatink pads.

Well, first of all, I bet you payed way more than I did. Second of all, all of my components are better than yours. The only thing I managed to find that was better on yours was that the geforce go 7900gtx has a fill rate of 12.0 billion pixels per second while my 7900gt has one of 10.8. This is at stock speeds mind you, the rest of the gpu specs are higher or equal. Now consider I was able to OC my gpu substantially 450MHz-600Mhz (33%), so I%26#39;m pretty sure my gpu destroys your now. And my cpu is better than yours at stock, now that it%26#39;s OC%26#39;ed to 2.66GHz I%26#39;m afraid yours is left in the dust. You do have more VRAM, so congrats, not that it%26#39;s really being utilized on a screen that small or anything... too bad I can and am going to upgrade my gpu for much less than a new ''gaming laptop'' will cost you. It%26#39;s also a shame you can%26#39;t OC your laptop... too bad they run hot enough as it is. Oh yah, and everything else I have on my pc is far better than yours... the screen, the hdd%26#39;s, speakers, sound card, etc.I will give you memory bandwidth, you have dd2, congrats. However, memory bandwidth isn%26#39;t an issue yet for ddr systems. While your laptop may still be able to manage games, it%26#39;s at the end of its lifespan, I hate to say. This next round of games are going to knock it flat on it%26#39;s face. As for me, I will be getting an HD2900XT or 8800gts (depending on which is better) this summer. ^ vRAM isnt being wasted on a WUXGA laptop screnn. thats 1920X1200 so his screen is actually better than yours. Fact of the matter is tho, that M1710 will no doubt give him at least another year of gaming goodness

However, I can close the lid on this baby and be out the door in 2 minutes with my complete setup. Then another 45 seconds to boot back up and I am playing Oblivion maxed at the jiffy lube while my car%26#39;s oil is being changed; something your rig will never allow you to do. My money was invested in mobile gaming and that is exaclty what I get.

I decided to build a desktop and oh my my my, my PC gaming life has undergone a revelation. [/QUOTE] I couldn%26#39;t agree more. The highest end laptop will always be substantially inferior to the highest end desktop, and cost waaaay more. High-end laptops (namely gaming ones) are overpriced and underperforming for the cash. I used to have a laptop, it wasn%26#39;t a high end one, but I sold it and for the money got my current rig - a few upgrades, and regret ever buying a laptop in the first place. If I ever buy a laptop again (I%26#39;m sure I will), it will be for mobile computing, not gaming.Besides, it was almost as much of a hassle carrying around that monster laptop as it is carrying around a desktop.

Laptops let you play games whilst moving around, but you pay more for it. Desktops let you play games whilst not moving around and you pay less for it.(a very very basic summary) Some people want to play games whlist there not at home and some dont... now just get over it and move on with your lives.

No. Is it sexy and stylish? Absolutely. You can keep your budget whatever at home while I am out pimping my poor financial decisions for the world to see.
