What%26#39;s the difference between a %26#39;quick%26#39; format and a %26#39;standard%26#39; format in Windows? I decided not to check in the option for quick format and started formatting my HDD. It%26#39;s been a few minutes now and the status bar isn%26#39;t even 1/3 full yet. Had I known it%26#39;d take this long I%26#39;d have opted for a quick format instead. It%26#39;s a 160GB HDD (7200RPM w/8MB cache I think) and it%26#39;s connected via an IDE-to-USB2.0 adapter. Does it take long for you guys?Questions about formatting HDD
Yes it does! But! It%26#39;s better than a quick format.
