EVGA 7900GS or the 7950GT?

OK, i%26#39;ve finally narrowed it down to two cards. I need opinions on which is better and would max Oblivion at 1024*768 Resolution. Thanks guys!EVGA 7900GS or the 7950GT?
BUMP........!.......!........!...........!.EVGA 7900GS or the 7950GT?
they both will max out oblivion at that resolution
they both will max out oblivion at that resolution
OK then, which one will be best for other demanding games then as well. I mainly only care about Oblivion. But, it would be nice to know what else these could handle.
Or, which one will max Oblivion at that resolution with no lag and good FPS?
Well neither one will be completely free from lag at the absolute highest settings. The 7950GT costs a bit more but it will give you better fps. Just turn off unnecessary settings like soft shadows, self shadowing, and turn down shadows and view distances a hair and it will run great.Edit: BTW, I am refering to the when you are in thick parts of the forest.
Or, which one will max Oblivion at that resolution with no lag and good FPS?
both should without lag and if your just buying it for oblivion then just get the cheapest one
Grass levels can also be turned down. IMO, they make items hard to find. I have a 7900GS and it runs fine, except when I%26#39;m fighting groups of guards in a rainstorm, or sometimes, snow.. BTW to TC, I like Zildjian better than Sabian =D
Why don%26#39;t you go for an X1950 XT instead?
BTW to TC, I like Zildjian better than Sabian =D
Haha..I use a Zildjian K Custom 22'' Ride..But the rest of my cymbals are a mixture of the Sabian AAX and Paragoran series. :P
Why don%26#39;t you go for an X1950 XT instead?
Would that be able to handle Oblivion well at 1024*768 with all settings on max and cause no lag?
Oh yes, in fact it beats both of those cards, and it costs $189 dollars.
X1950XT would be your best bet. Only $30 more than the 7900GS and it is quite a bit better, especially for Oblivion. It is better than the 7950gt for the same price as well.

The x1950XT outperforms the 512MB version of the GT, the 256MB version is no match for it. Plus, the XT costs less than the GT. Out of those three, the XT is the best performing card by far. Just make sure you have
enough juice in your PSU to power it.

The XT beats the GT 512MB soundly. It slaughters the 256MB version you linked, plus the 7900GS
