With my current PC, my PSU broke and i replaced it with a 550w Antec Truepower 2.0 in hope that it would be enough to feul my future PC also. My future PC will contain something like e6600 8800gts (320mb) 2 gigs ddr2 sorta deal. what do you think? Worried my PSU will not be enough to feul my future PC.
it will be enough. no worries manWorried my PSU will not be enough to feul my future PC.
whew, thanks mate. That puts me at ease :) What about if i was to go SLI with the 8800gts in the future?
You%26#39;d still probably be ok. Is your PSU SLi compatible? (two PCI-e connections?)
it will be enough. no worries man
If the amps on the +12v are enough, the posters P.S.U. will be ok.
well its a Antec truepower 2.0 and a 500watt one. it will handle it, all the true powers from antec have solid amps from the 12v.
godo to know guys, it has 2 12v rails, and its 550w not 500. So i geus im right. Cheers gang.
For a single 8800GTS, you%26#39;re definitely in the clear - but SLI might be a bit much for the Truepower Trio. Double-check the amperage on the +12v line before you decide to head down that route, just in case.
For the single card config--no problems. For SLi, you may want to look at a nice 750w PSU.But SLi/CrossFire is generally overkill anyway (unless you%26#39;ve got like a 24'' monitor).
well i have a 22'' so im kinda boarderline. Il start off with just one anyways.
well i have a 22'' so im kinda boarderline. Il start off with just one anyways.
You could always upgrade to a GTX, should the need arise. ;)
To be honest, I%26#39;m not so convinced it will be fine in future. At the moment I run a 500W power supply with 1 graphics card and a sound card. If i plug in 4 USB devices my computer often whines that I don%26#39;t have enough power to run them all. Obviously it%26#39;s entirely possible that my PSU just sucks, it IS about 3 years old now. However, when I completely rebuild my comp from scratch later this year I%26#39;m probably gonna go for at least a 1000W supply, that%26#39;ll last a while!
1000W is probably enough to run a washing machine (jk)
1000W is probably enough to run a washing machine (jk)
that is WAY more than needed for a washing machine. those things run on AC, not DC.
or is it?
jk i don%26#39;t know any thing about power currents and stuff like that
Well if you are looking into the HD 2900 XT, you might need to get a beefy power supply anyways..... 750w recommended for single card (!). good luck on that one.
