Will the 8600gt fit in my case?

My pc is just about gaming ready, I just need to add a new graphics card. Would an 8600gt fit?Here are the dimensions of my case.7.2%26#39; x 17.9%26#39; x 14.6%26#39;idk what that means but since ive never really seen a graphics card in real life i dont have a sense of how big it could be.Will the 8600gt fit in my case?

Yes, it'll fit fine. While the new G80 series of cards are a bit bigger, they are still within acceptable limits. The only real issue you could have when you have a small case is that the power plugs that you have to plug into the GPU will interfere with the power plug for the HDD if this is placed at the same height of the GPU. The molex power plugs could be pushing each other away. This can easily be resolved by placing your HDD either higher or lower in the 3.5'' bay so the power plugs won't interfere with each other again.
