8800gts performing far better than expected!

I%26#39;ve been running my system with Vista Home Premium, C2D e6600, evga 8800gts 320mb superclocked for about a week now, and it%26#39;s absolutely blown away all of my expectations. Averaging about 45 fps in Supreme Commander max settings, AA, 1680x1050, and averaged 145 in the Half Life 2: Lost Coast stress test, and about 40 average in the Medieval 2 Total War demo. I own Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, but bugs in Vista won%26#39;t let me get past the prologue, so I didn%26#39;t get a chance to benchmark it, but it looked absolutely amazing. These were the kind of scores that I would have only thought possible from an 8800gtx, but now I%26#39;m really glad that I saved the extra money. The 320mb does not appear to be any problem at all. Of course I%26#39;m not saying there isn%26#39;t an arguement for buying an 8800gtx, but I just thought I%26#39;d make it known just the kind of performance you can get from a $300 card. I will be absolutely amazed if this card does not max future games such as Crysis and World in Conflict. EDITI should also mention that my 3D mark06 score was 8842, which I%26#39;m very happy with.8800gts performing far better than expected!
Yep, it%26#39;s an amazing card ;) Makes you rethink IRL graphics%26#39; quality =P8800gts performing far better than expected!

whats so important about maxing out settings anyways, at least for me max settings looks no different than a mix of high/med

It looks like he just configed it on some prebuilt site and copied it to his sig...I had a great build for under $900 , for just the tower, and it was pretty awesome.
It would be even cheaper now, with the new parts I have found, if there was a GTS for $225 again...
An awesome pair of DDR2 is now $102 on mwave.com and the Corsair 520w is $85 on ZZF.com. Those deals alone drop the price $30!

There are people on here with better rigs anyway, nothing on yours makes it unbelievable. Besides, who knows what you do for a living and you may have money coming out from every orifice of your body, LOL. Simply put, i dont see why you would lie and if u are those are your issues.

Someone who BUYS there gaming rig has a microscopic e-winky.
Well, Mr. LordEC911 , you are an idiot, just because you dont want to spend real money on your rig doesn%26#39;t mean nobody else does.
Why would you buy from Alienware? Their stuff is way overpriced; you%26#39;re just paying for the logo. Besides, their customer satisfaction isn%26#39;t even that good.
I%26#39;ve had bad experiences with single part warranties and customer service when I build my own. This time, I just decided to make it easy and go with a two year in house service agreement. By then I will probably get a new computer anyways. Personally, I think it will hold up fine. If in 3 months my computer is fried, than I have been owned and will never buy prebuilt again. This amount of money is not a factor for me.
LORD, You are probably still asking mommy for money to buy your next game. See above for my purchace conformation.
LoL, while I have no idea how old you are, since you have no info in your profile... but check mine and see how old I am. I am in college, paying my own way, living in a house with 2 friends... I have payed for almost everything since I have been 16. If you are going to try to insult me, you might want to do a little research first or at least check my profile...Anyways, all I did was make a comment about your sig and how copy/paste it was...
You spent $4.5k dollars and you don%26#39;t check on the manufacturer of the PSU, memory, motherboard and GPU.
The only 2 explanations are, you are lying or you have too much money...Seeing as how you just joined the forum right at the time you ''bought'' your computer I went with the more logical answer.

Be sure to post pictures when it arrives...My rig will be able to easily best yours in a few months... and for a few thousand less...
Hell, my current rig isn%26#39;t too far behind yours for $3.5k less.
