fix my USB! (please)

hii am gettin really somethinged off with my computer, because everytime i plug my mp3 player into a usb slot, it restarts then windows wont open until i unplug it again. this also happens when my bro plugs in his phone, and i bought a usb  mouse, which didn%26#39;t cause it to restart straight away but did crash later on while playing BF2142. strangely it doesnt restart with the printer plugged in :S. iv already tried uninstalling the ports in device manager but that did nothing. any ideas what could be the problem? fix my USB! (please)

• Do you get an error message when the device is connected to your PC? If so, what is it (the more specific the better)?
  
• What operating system are you using (If using Windows 2K or XP please include the service pack information)?
• What Brand and model of Motherboard are you using?
• What Brand/Model of MP3 player, phone, mouse are you using?
• Have you checked for updated Chipset drivers for you Motherboard?
• Have you checked with the Manufacturer of your Motherboard/OS/USB devices to see if there are any known compatability issues?

oh yeh and i forgot to mention the SiS website is down
