Motherboard Memory Question

If my motherboard%26#39;s memory standard is DDR2 800, could it support DDR2 1000 or more? Would it make a difference if I got a faster speed SDRAM?Motherboard Memory Question

if your mobos max mem speed is 800mhz and you put a 1000mhz stick it will be downclocked to 800mhz, unless you OC it
