Well, my issue is that about 3 days ago I tried to play COD for the first time in 3 months or so. And unlike all previous times, the framerate is about 10 per second, this has nothing to with my PC not being able to handle it, as it has done so for 6 months previous to this, it is also not solely this game, as Ureal tournament has started acting upas well. Ive tried scanning for viruses but nothing has come up. Does anyone have any suggestions about what to do?Games suddenly running REALLY poorly for no discernable reason.
what are ur system specs. cGames suddenly running REALLY poorly for no discernable reason.
Try defragging and cleaning out those temp files.
You might have corrupted the drivers somehow, you could try completely removing the old ones and installing new ones.Just guessing
I%26#39;ve got a dual core 2.8 Ghz processor and an intergrated chip, but have had no trouple running either on max with very good framerate. How do I defrag my temp files?
\I assume you haven%26#39;t done any driver updates since you last played the game? Since you do have integrated graphics, is the amount of Video RAM allotted to the video card still the same, or was it somehow turned off or scut back?
I dont know how can I check?
I dont know how can I check?
If you don%26#39;t know, then you definitely didn%26#39;t update your drivers. It might be worth updating them though, since you haven%26#39;t already. Go to the site of whoever manufactured your onboard video chip, and follow their directions to properly uninstall and install their drivers. To check how much RAM is allotted to your onboard video, go into your BIOS (usually requires hitting a certain key right after powering up your machine - your screen should tell you which key. Once you%26#39;re in the BIOS, it%26#39;s hard to say exactly - I don%26#39;t know what BIOS you%26#39;re using. there should be some sort of menu that refers to either graphics settings or just settings in general, and you can find out there.
I had a problem like this, Nortan anti virus (dont scold me) it didn%26#39;t see that there was 700 viruses on my slowing it down :), If you have scanned your computer clean spyware, virus, then defgragment your hard disc, my computer > right click > properties > tools defragment now. Then with that download www.ccleaner.com it will clean your registry and temp files good huh? Then last update your video drivers, if all else fails right click your C:/ drive formot (jk) lol
Thanks, I have Norton as well, I%26#39;ll give it a go.
I would run at least 2 different spyware programs in addition to that virus scan. System maintenance is probably to blame. Maybe a program like system mechanic would help also. Check windows updates and update any drivers you can.
